Abstract

The research proposed aims to explore and determine the drivers of the behaviour of knowledge-sharing (KSB) which enables knowledge sharing among the students in university institutions in the community sector. The results indicate that knowledge management culture, social networking and information technology play a major role in enhancing knowledge-sharing practices amongst students. Objective: The main contribution of this study is to determine the influences of the knowledge management culture, social networks, information technology as well as the motivation on the knowledge-sharing behaviour. By taking a quantitative research approach, 300 respondents in different universities in Karachi, Pakistan were sampled and collected using via an online survey and self-administered questionnaire. Results: Four hypotheses were constructed in order to analyse the relationships between these variables. The analysis of the data was carried out in terms of Partial Least Squares (PLS), which is the approach in the framework of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). On the basis of the results, the conclusion/final chapter proposes a future research and its probable areas of improvement namely introduction of new variables, experimenting with other sectors of industries and consideration of shortcomings to the study.
