Abstract

The transition toward a knowledge-based economy has fundamentally reshaped how value is created, delivered, and sustained in contemporary organizations. In this context, servitization—the shift from product-centric offerings to integrated product–service systems—has emerged as a critical strategic transformation. However, existing servitization research largely emphasizes operational, technological, and business model innovation, while giving limited attention to the deeper knowledge dynamics that underpin long-term economic evolution. This paper addresses this gap by introducing Knowledge Transcendence as a complementary and enabling mechanism for servitization within the knowledge economy. Drawing on systems thinking, the study conceptualizes the knowledge economy as a complex adaptive system in which servitization acts as a structural driver of interaction, learning, and co-creation, while knowledge transcendence facilitates the continuous evolution of understanding beyond existing cognitive, organizational, and institutional boundaries. The paper develops a systems-based conceptual framework that explains how servitization and knowledge transcendence interact across individual, organizational, and systemic levels to generate higher-order value, innovation, and economic resilience. By linking servitization with transformative knowledge processes, this research contributes a novel theoretical perspective on the evolution of the knowledge economy and offers strategic insights for organizations and policymakers seeking sustainable growth in increasingly complex environments.
