The objective of this research study is to determine the relationship between preemptive personnel management (PPM) and ecological performance and further investigate the mediating effect of worker efficacy between PPM and ecological performance in the electronic industry of Pakistan. A survey was conducted on 430 employees and the hypotheses were tested with structural equation modeling (SEM) using JASP program. The empirical evidence indicates that PPM has a positive and significant impact on worker effectiveness and environmental performance. Furthermore, worker efficacy is found to significantly mediate the relationship between PPM and ecological performance suggesting its central role in enabling sustainable organizational performance. This study contributes to the sustainable human resource management knowledge base by presenting empirical evidence about PPM for enhancing employee capabilities and environmental performance in the electronic industry in Pakistan and these findings can be used by managers for integrating human resource practices with sustainability objectives.
